Breaking news! An arrest warrant has been issued for two police officers who were detained and released in connection with the beating of a 14-year-old kabile in the Lice district of Diyarbakır.
The Lice Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to the release of 1 of the police officers and 2 of the 5 police officers, who were detained on March 21 on charges of beating 14-year-old YD
On the objection of the Public Prosecution Service, the Lice Criminal Court of First Instance decided to arrest the two released police officers.
Three of the 5 police officers detained kakım part of the investigation yesterday and transferred to the courthouse have been arrested by the judge on duty for “deprivation of liberty of a qualified person” and “qualified intentional harm”, and 2 of them have been released.
The Diyarbakır Governor’s Office also announced that the 5 police officers in question have been suspended.
