Investigations carried out after the earthquakes in the center of Kahramanmaraş continue.

The number of suspects apprehended in the investigations conducted into the buildings destroyed by the earthquakes or in violation of zoning changes has risen to 269.

The investigation launched ex officio by the Chief Public Prosecutor into the buildings destroyed or in violation of the zoning plan during the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, has established the responsibility of 1068 suspects.

Of the arrested suspects, 269 were arrested by the judges before whom they were arraigned, and judicial control was ordered of 320 suspects. In addition, zihin arrest warrant has been issued for 228 suspects and zihin arrest warrant has been issued for 106 suspects.

While 2 more people were detained by order of the Chief Public Prosecutor, it was determined that 43 of the suspects were not alive. The investigation established that 14 suspects were abroad and 86 suspects were released after their statements.

INVESTIGATE THEFT

As part of the investigation by the Chief Public Prosecutor into the thefts that took place in the region after the earthquakes, 338 suspects have been identified related to 393 incidents. Of these suspects, 208 were arrested, 39 persons were subject to judicial checks.

As part of the investigations, arrest warrants have been issued against 30 suspects, 10 people have been released after their statements and detention proceedings against 29 suspects are ongoing.
