Important news! A start has been made with the new identity card requirement at banks.
The statement came from Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. Minister Soylu announced that work is underway with the Banking Supervision and Regulation Authority (BDDK) and said “No transactions will take place at banks without a new identity card.”
In 2022, 4 million 588 thousand passports, 5 million 975 thousand driving licenses and 12 million 117 thousand identity applications were made. Approximately 75 million identities were renewed.
HOW IS THE IDENTITY RENEWAL PROCESS DONE?
Identity renewal processes will continue until December 31, 2023.
Citizens yaşama get zihin appointment to change their identity card both through the official website of the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship and through the ALO 199 line.
Documents required for change of identity are:
– Identity card / ID card, family card, passport, driver’s license
– A biometric photo
