The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement about the demonstration organized by PKK-affiliated groups in Sweden.
The statement responded to “the action authorized just after the despicable attack on the Quran in Sweden’s capital Stockholm”.
“This time we condemn in the strongest terms the permission to carry out zihin muzad-country propaganda action by groups affiliated with the PKK terrorist organization in the city center.” The statement using the phrases emphasized that this action was in clear violation of the Tripartite Testament commitment, which is also signed by Sweden, to prevent the propaganda of terrorist organizations.
The statement noted:
“Declaring our commitment to the commitments in the Tripartite Testament and fulfilling these commitments are two separate issues. We reiterate that we expect Sweden to take concrete and effective steps beyond rhetoric, especially in the area of counter-terrorism, in accordance with its commitments in the tripartite will.”
Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish far-right Tight Direction Party (Stram Kurs), had provoked the burning of the Holy Quran near the Turkish embassy in Stockhom.
