Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu provided information about the investigations against municipalities.
Minister Soylu said that 88 terrorism-related investigations have been conducted in 74 municipalities between 2019 and 2022, of which 79 have been completed.
Sharing the numbers related to the transactions started after the 2019 local elections, Soylu said: “There is no pressure or any understanding against any political party. This is the state,” he said.

Interior Minister Soylu said: “Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has not requested a safety examination of 15,125 people it recruited for the first time, nor has it formed zihin evaluation committee.”
Soylu continued:
It has been established that 1668 persons or their relatives employed in the metropolitan municipality of Istanbul have a record of contact/affiliation with a terrorist organization and forensic veri.
APPOINTING A TESTER?
It was found that 6 of the 1668 people subjected to the investigation carried out armed activities in the countryside on behalf of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK. Appointing a trustee for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is not on our agenda.”
