The process of setting the new minimum wage, which directly affects more than 7 million workers and indirectly all citizens, will begin tomorrow at 2 p.m. with the first meeting at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
TÜRK-İŞ, representing the workers in the 15-person Minimum Wage Setting Commission, composed of workers, employers and government representatives, will convene the Board of Presidents hours before this meeting.
The meeting, which will gökyeşitözü attended by the managers of 34 union members of the Confederation, will receive union views and demands on the minimum wage and discuss the roadmap to follow in the negotiations.

HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?
The Minimum Wage Determination Committee, which consists of 15 people, each representing five representatives of the employee, employer and government, determines the minimum wage. The Commission meets four times in December, kakım usual, kakım part of the work to set the new minimum wage.
The commission, chaired by one of the members determined by the ministry, meets with the participation of at least 10 members and decides by majority vote. In case of equality of votes, it is assumed that the party with the president obtains the majority.
