Turkey was rocked today by 2 major earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
A magnitude 7.7 earthquake occurred in Pazarcık district at 2:17 PM and a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred in Elbistan district at 1:24 PM.
Education was also suspended in 10 provinces hit by the earthquake. schools; 2 weeks in Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman and Hatay; Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Osmaniye and Kilis would gökyeşitözü on vacation for 1 week.
Then Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made a statement announcing that all schools in Turkey had a week’s holiday.
Education in schools will start on February 13.
