According to preliminary information, a vehicle was parked by the side of the road on Mardin road in the downtown Sur district.
The bomb-laden vehicle exploded while passing duty with riot police officers.
Eight police officers were injured in the bomb attack.
The injured officers have been taken to surrounding hospitals.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu issued a statement about the attack.
