Important news! The new chairman of the Central Council of Arbitration (MHK) has been announced.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that the new president of MHK is Lale Orta.
In the federation’s statement: “The Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation has appointed Prof. Dr. Lale Orta kakım the Chairman of the Central Arbitration Commission with the decision taken at today’s meeting.
Turkey’s first female football coach, first female football referee and one of the first FIFA-licensed female referees, Prof. Dr. MHK, to take office under the presidency of Lale Orta; We believe that he will fulfill his responsibilities to take Turkish football to the next level in the international yarış by adding value to football, and we wish the new MHK chairman and members every success in their duties.”

WHO IS LALE ORTA?
He was born in 1960 in Istanbul. After playing basketball at Vefa Club for a while, she started playing at Dostlukspor Girls’ Football Club, Turkey’s first women’s football club.
He played football in Dostluk Spor between 1976-1989. He was the goalkeeper and captain of the club. He completed his higher education from the Department of Business Administration of Marmara University in 1986.
She continued her coaching courses in 1985 and became the first female football coach in Turkey by completing the course with first place. During his training kakım a trainer, he followed a football referee training. He continued his career kakım a football referee in the men’s leagues. First he directed a match at the Eyüp stadium.
She became the first female referee to officiate a football match in Turkey’s professional 1st, 2nd and 3rd leagues. In 1995, she became one of the first FIFA-licensed female referees in the world by being one of 54 female referees selected from 27 countries by the International Association of Football Associations (FIFA). He led 60 international matches until he stopped refereeing.
In 2000, she obtained her PhD with her dissertation titled “An Analytical Approach on Football Organizations in the World and in Turkey”, becoming the first academic woman to write a dissertation on football in Turkey.
He continued his academic career at Istanbul Technical University (1998-2003) and at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Education, Department of Physical Education and Sports Education (2003-2009). In 2009, he assumed the chairmanship of the Department of Sports Science at Okan University. In 2020 he received the title of professor.
He held various positions in the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK), the Association of Active Football Referees and Observers of Turkey and the TFF Central Referees Council. He worked kakım a delegate and referee observer (2006-2009) and UEFA referee coach (2006-2007) at UEFA.
It was deemed worthy of the “Women and Sports 2002 – European Continent Grand Prize” awarded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to individuals and institutions that play a leading role in women’s participation in sport. In 2003, he was selected by UEFA kakım one of the top 17 referees in continental Europe.
