After the second round of elections at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the chairman was determined.
Shekib Avdagic again became president.
Today the second round of the elections took place at the ITO. According to the election results that ended at noon; Avdagic was elected for the second time.
Avdagiç received 180 votes, while his opponent Atilla Bingol received 82 votes. In a statement after the vote, Şekib Avdagiç stated that the elections were over and said, “Now is the time to work together for Istanbul’s trade.”
Last week, 273 councilors were elected to the ITO for 81 different professions.
WHO IS ŞEKİB AVDAGIC?
He graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 1982 kakım a mechanical engineer. He graduated in 1988 with a degree from the Faculty of Business Administration of Istanbul University. He is the chairman of the board of directors of a company operating in the automotive industry.
He participated in the committee that MUSIAD founded in 1990 and was deputy chairman until 2000. He was a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce between 1995-1999. Between 2005-2009 he was a member of the board of directors of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.
Between 2008-2009 he was a member of the board of directors of the Istanbul 2010 Capital of Culture Agency. He became the chairman of the board of directors of the Istanbul 2010 Istanbul Cultural Capital in 2009, and this job ended in June 2011 with the completion of the project.
Between 2013 and 2019, he served kakım Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Composites Manufacturers Association. Since April 2018, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.
Şekib Avdagiç is the chairman of the board of directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, and also performs various duties in the following institutions.
