Is it better to have 4x4 RAM or 2x8?
Some cpus only support dual channel while others quad channel. So 4x4 would run as two different sets of memory (in a dual channel setup) making 2x8 better. However, in quad, 4x4 is better. Actual noticeable differences may not be enough.
