The decision was taken during the hearing where the decision to extradite Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of Thodex, to Turkey was discussed.

Dıraç’s appeals court approved Özer’s extradition decision. In the coming days, Özer will gökyeşitözü taken to Turkey.

Özer has the right to appeal to the Albanian Supreme Court. However, since the Albanian Minister of Justice issued a positive opinion on his extradition, there is a good chance that this judicial process will not work.




The Elbasan Court of First Instance stated that the request of the Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office to “authorize the extradition of Özer to Turkey” was accepted at the November 17 hearing.

Özer appealed this decision on 7 December. The hearing on this decision at the Durraç Court of Appeal took place on December 16 and 20.

Caught in ALBANIA ON AUGUST 30

Wanted with a red alert, Özer was caught in Albania on August 30. The decision of the Elbasan Court of First Instance on the continuation of Özer’s detention on 2 September was also appealed by Özer’s lawyers on 14 September.

The Duraç Court of Appeal also upheld the decision on Özer’s detention on September 20.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced that Özer would gökyeşitözü extradited to Turkey after the trial in Albania.
