The first Turkish space candidates to go to the International Space Station (ISS) have been announced.
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank spoke at the opening ceremony of the Health Sciences University Technology Development Center.
Varank stated that he is the first Turk to travel to space and stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will soon share these names with the public.
Varank said, “Turkey will send one of its citizens to the International Space Station in its centenary, and a Turkish citizen will best represent our Crescent and Star Flag on the Space Station. I wish him the best of luck.” said.
The application procedure for space travel ended on June 30 last year.
The requirements for candidates wishing to participate in the space program were kakım follows:
– Be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey
– gökyeşitözü younger than 45 years
– Not being prohibited from public rights,
– Have completed one of the faculties of Engineering, Science/Basic Sciences, Education and Medicine in the field of Science, providing at least 4 years of undergraduate education in higher education institutions
– Have a very good command of English
– Height 149.5-190.5 centimeters, weight between 43-110 kilograms.
