“I offer once again my wish that our nation get well soon after the February 6 earthquakes, which caused the most loss of life, destruction and pain in the history of the Republic, and the aftershocks that followed,” Erdogan said.

Highlights from the words of the President, who declared that all facilities had been mobilized after the earthquake:

“The destruction was so great that we could not achieve the desired effectiveness in the first hours of work. Of course, we did not surrender to the obstacles that circumstances imposed on us. Under the coordination of AFAD, we mobilized the public power of all 81 provinces within a few hours.

Shortly after the earthquake, we restored order. We prioritized search and rescue. The massive devastation caused by the earthquake also made life difficult for our remaining people. The number of buildings that have become unusable rises to 230 thousand.

”AIMES 100 THOUSAND CONTAINERS IN 2 MONTHS”

In 11 provinces in the earthquake zone, the number of collapsed, urgently destroyed and heavily damaged buildings reaches 230 thousand, and the number of independent sections in these areas reaches 645 thousand. Our goal is to transport half a million earthquake survivors to these areas, where they yaşama live in better conditions by installing 100,000 containers in a maximum of 2 months.

KOSGEB DEBT REMOVAL IN DISASTER AREA

So far, we have set up 6,000 temporary trading houses in the earthquake zone and put them at the service of our craftsmen. We also set up bazaars of 3,000 containers. We are clearing the 2023 debts of the companies in the earthquake zone to KOSGEB and all debts of our operators who lost their lives in the disaster. To date, we have made zihin emergency relief payment of 10 thousand liras per household to more than 1 million 61 thousand victims of the earthquake.

We provide a loan of up to 250 thousand lira to shopkeepers in areas severely damaged by the earthquake, with a term of 60 months, with a grace period of 12 months, with zihin interest rate of 7.5 percent, half of which is paid by the treasury. According to the current schedule, we will build a total of 488 thousand new homes, of which 405 thousand homes and 83 thousand village homes, and deliver these to our citizens. Our goal is to start building 244 thousand houses and 75 thousand village houses in the next 2 months. About 22 thousand were built. We are also starting to add 164,000 moderately damaged independent sections in approximately 40,000 buildings.

CALL FOR URBAN TRANSFORMATION

It is haram for us to stop and rest before life returns to normal in our earthquake-prone cities. I once again call on all my citizens to transform their old and risky buildings into urban transformation so kakım not to experience the pain of February 6 again. We are conducting long-term subsidized financial management in the coming days to accelerate urban transformation projects. While we are faced with the urgent transformation of 6.5 million buildings in our country, especially in Istanbul, the burden of slowing down the process with political calculations is very heavy.

We have started preparations for the work we will gam in many areas, from disaster legislation to strengthening disaster management, especially its institutional structure.

“ON MARCH 10 WE WILL TAKE AN ELECTION DECISION”

It is essential that the process that leads to agenda deviations is omitted and that the election debates are omitted. Holding the elections on May 14 gives us this opportunity. An earthquake is on our agenda during the election process. We begin the process with the publication of the election decision, which we will take on Friday, March 10, based on the powers granted to us by the Constitution, in the Official Gazette the following day.

“NOW FOR TURKEY”

Turkey does not tolerate wasted time, energy and distraction. For this we now say for Turkey. Turkey needs a strong government and strong political will to heal the wounds of these disasters and repair their direct and indirect consequences.

We are issuing a presidential decree that will ensure that earthquake victims who change their residence or voter registration will not gökyeşitözü deprived of their rights and opportunities. By extending the Attraction Center Support Program to all of our Supporting Region Districts, we are ensuring that they all benefit from the 6th Region Support.
